The way to Journey and E-book Sensible This Vacation Season
It is the time of year when people start planning their Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other vacation trips. However, in the midst of a pandemic, things will definitely be different.
Many people still want to travel during the holiday season, whether it be to visit a family they haven’t seen since this crisis began, or simply to take a much-needed short vacation after months of lockdown.
Bruce Rosenberg, President of the Americas and COO of HotelPlanner, a group booking website, offers expert advice for those booking during this busy travel season.
First, Rosenberg advises travelers to start shopping now and book soon.
“The prices for hotels and all other travel-related expenses are extremely low under the circumstances,” he said.
Trendy right now
Rosenberg also recommends a refundable rate and free cancellation. He also noted that it is wise to bring your own cleaning supplies.
“At this point in time, all hotels have cleaning logs due to COVID-19,” Rosenberg said. “Bring extra wipes or disinfectant to clean touch-sensitive areas such as remote controls, thermostats and door handles.”
When you are out and about, it is important to keep your distance.
“Limit interactions with hotel staff cleaning services other than changing towels,” advised Rosenberg.
He also recommends looking for mid-range accommodations that are outside of the city center for the safest stay.
“Try checking out three-star hotels,” remarked Rosenberg. “The trend right now is to stay in the suburbs rather than big cities. These 3-star hotels have fewer rooms, easier public parking, less public space and good prices.”
Travelers need to be vigilant about the status of their destination before visiting.
“Always stay up to date with the latest news about the region you are traveling to,” recommended Rosenberg. “Allow flexibility during these times.”
