DFA Courtesy Lane: Who’re allowed to make use of the DFA passport categorical lane?

What is DFA Courtesy Lane?

T.The DFA Courtesy Lane is a special lane designed for the special use of applicants in a specific category established by the State Department. This special lane, known as the courtesy lane, is implemented by the State Department. Certain types of applicants do not need to make an appointment through the Filipino appointment system.

How OFWs can renew passports in the Philippines

This simply means that if an applicant meets the criteria to fall under one of the categories set by the FDFA, they can use the specific lane exclusively or courtesy at any time without making an appointment.

With the ongoing health crisis starting June 3, 2020, applicants eligible to use Courtesy Lane will need to make an online appointment just like regular applicants. This ensures the safety of staff and other applicants in the EDA office by strictly following health protocols and physical distancing.

Securing online appointments for the use of Courtesy Lane restricts applicants who can enter the DFA office at any time. However, this also leads to a faster process in the processing of the applicant’s documents. Applicants who are authorized to use the DFA Courtesy Lane also have the exclusive right to use the lane separately from regular applicants.
