FlexiPass by Travelstride Presents Money Incentive To Guide

Travelstride introduced Travelstride’s FlexiPass to encourage bookings for future tour trips. The company, a marketplace for multi-day tours and vacations planned by experts such as tour operators and travel consultants, has been around for six years and, according to Gavin Delany, CEO, serves as a kind of TripAdvisor or kayak, but for multi-day tours with a focus on adventure travel ” in the broadest sense”.

Over 1,500 tour operators and travel experts are represented in the company’s network. The website has generated over 150,000 unique reviews and over 50,000 bookable itineraries since its inception. There are many set trips, but also the ability for travelers to customize any itinerary.

To date, Delany said, “we have been a matchmaker connecting travelers with the tour operator or advisor and the consumer paying them directly.” The company’s value is “as a connector with which consumers or consultants can research, filter and compare travel routes and brands”.

Launched in late December, Travelstride’s FlexiPass allows travelers to purchase travel vouchers that are valid for purchasing travel packages from a curated list of 23 global and local tour operators. Hundreds of destinations can be visited on every continent by 2023.

The operators include well-known companies such as Collette, Audley and Intrepid. Coupons can be purchased in three stages with bonus savings as follows:

– $ 750 travel voucher for the price of $ 625 – $ 125 bonus

– Travel voucher worth 1,500 USD for the price of 1,200 USD – 300 USD bonus

– $ 2,500 travel voucher for the price of $ 1,900 – $ 600 bonus

Once purchased, travelers choose a trip that suits their travel style from a selection of around 2,000 packages or by creating a custom itinerary. The vouchers will be redeemed at the current sales price against the total cost of the trip you have chosen.

COVID-19 reopening

The vouchers, Delany said, are good for tour operators, travel advisors and consumers – in general, to help workers in the travel industry keep busy.

Travelers must redeem their pass for a specific trip at one of the partner tour operators by January 1, 2023 and travel by December 31, 2023. Additional security is provided with a full refund within 90 days of purchase and a small cancellation fee incurred if a refund is requested after 90 days. The FlexiPass is ideal as a gift, Delany said, since it’s practically a gift card.

According to Delany, Travelstride intends to offer a commission for FlexiPass soon. The company plans to pay a commission of seven percent on the purchase value of the FlexiPass (e.g. on the paid $ 1,900, not the face value of $ 2,500) up to 10 percent based on the volume. Of course, the consultant also receives a regular commission from the tour operator.

The beauty of FlexiPass from a consultant’s perspective, according to Delany, is that it offers the opportunity to reach out to customers and say, “This is a great financial opportunity for you. You can buy this coupon now while you decide where you want to go. “It’s a great way for consultants to show their worth and a reason to communicate with clients.

Once buyers purchase a tour, they are committed to that tour operator. However, if they change plans, they can use purchase to change dates, itinerary, etc.

Looking to the future, Delany said, FlexiPass will stay, but keep evolving. The amount of the discount will be less when things return to normal, but as a concept it will stick.

Travelstride’s traditional business continues, but buyer behavior has changed, Delany said. Trends include longer and more haunted trips, with the average trip duration increasing 40 percent since the pandemic began. a new focus on distant, less populated, and more open-air destinations; very short or very long booking windows; and an increased interest in flexibility. Travelers, Delany said, need to know they have the flexibility to cancel or change their plans with little or no risk.
