Jasper Arts companions with famend Irish singer for St. Patrick’s Day efficiency

After many of his personal appearances were postponed, Jasper Community Arts has teamed up with Michael Londra to bring a wonderfully Irish evening of entertainment for St. Patrick’s Day.

Ireland with Michael is a wonderful Celtic show from the National Opera House in Wexford, Ireland. The never-before-seen show, recorded in front of 750 spectators, features the Irish Concert Orchestra, two choirs, singers and musicians from all over Ireland who, along with well-known Irish singer Michael Londra, celebrate Irish culture, heritage and music for the St. Patrick’s season.

The show also goes to the Irish villages and countryside to meet local traditional singers, dancers and musicians. Michael travels to Dublin and Belfast to perform there. He travels to Kennedy Homestead, the Kennedy family’s family farm, to speak about JFK’s legacy in Ireland and sing about his connection to the family.

Michael’s friend, New York Times bestselling author Eoin Colfer (Artemis Fowl), welcomes him to the Hook Head Lighthouse, the world’s oldest operating lighthouse, to share the country’s history.

Michael shares his own connection to songs and stories from his homeland, his love of traditional music with Irish world champion dancers, a duet with West End star Zoe Rainey, the beautiful 10-piece harpist group Cláirsí Neamhaí with local violinists, pipers playing jigs and roles that are perfect for celebrating Irish heritage.

This is the time of year when we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and everything is Irish. While there may not be a parade this spring, you can still celebrate from the comfort of your home with one of Ireland’s leading voices, Michael Londra.

Hosting Ireland with Michael, the new travel and music series coming to PBS in Spring 2021, and author of a travel book of the same name, the Emmy-nominated Irish tenor is an expert on everything Celtic. He invites the audience not only to his live show but also to scenes in his homeland with guest singers, Irish dancers and storytellers throughout the show, which were filmed in local castles and pubs.

The show promises to make you proud of your heritage, if you are Irish and if not then you can safely be Irish for a day.
