Ridgefield Library is proud to present Toni McKeen, professor of arts, history, travel, and genealogy for a Zoom lecture on comfort foods for the winter on Wednesday, January 27 at 4:00 p.m. With the long winter days ahead of us, McKeen will discover delicious comfort foods and their interesting history. She’ll share why bread, wine, and chestnuts should be high on people’s lists and how slow-cooked, roasted, or baked foods like hearty casseroles and warming stews send good luck signals to our brains during cold weather.

Ballroom dancing, swing lessons for beginners

Ballroom dancing, swing beginners / refresher classes begin Wednesday, February 3, in Ridgefield Continuing Education online via Zoom. The lessons allow you to study and dance at home in a small space. Participants learn basic ballroom and rhythm patterns in rumba, cha-cha, east coast swing, and some club-style dances. For beginners and for people who have taken classes in the past. Class size limited. Wear party shoes with leather or suede soles. Instructor Natalie Mazzola, a former amateur 10 dance master and longstanding dance teacher in this field, teaches the class.

Classes take place on four Wednesdays (February 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th) from 8:15 pm to 9:00 pm and cost $ 80 per couple. Ridgefield Seniors 62 years and older pay $ 64 per couple. Dance Toning classes start on January 25th and February 3rd. Barre-lates Pilates starts on February 2nd. A pre-registration is neccessary. Murphy explain how to use asset protection trusts to protect your resources and get Medicaid benefits (for home care or nursing homes) in less than five years, as well as for the VA Aid & Attendance pension (up to) up to $ 2,166 / month!).

Also, learn how Revocable Living Trusts can help you avoid probate proceedings, minimize estate taxes, receive IRA funds, care for disabled family members, avoid IP rights, and protect your assets from your children’s creditors. Staging your house, maximizing the planned curb appeal workshop

A new Zoom workshop offered to brokers and homeowners as part of Ridgefield Education.

Realtor Debi Orr of Ridgefields Keller-Williams Realty shows pictures of well-staged rooms and answers questions about how to improve the appearance of your rooms. Young’s of Ridgefield will share fencing and landscaping ideas that add value to any home and will describe their fencing, landscaping, and lawn care services that can help home sellers maximize a roadside home appeal. The design educator and landlady Linda Keefer offers budget presentations and design tips.
