BISMARCK – The Midwest Travel Network has selected North Dakota as their 2020 Destination of the Year.

Despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, a steady stream of content from bloggers in North Dakota prompted the network of travel influencers to reward the state’s hard work in attracting media coverage.

“Over the past year, we’ve seen a blogger in North Dakota or we’ve seen conversations on social media saying ‘I want to go to North Dakota’ and two weeks later we see them in North Dakota are.” said Sara Broers, co-owner of the Midwest Travel Network.

The Midwest Travel Network connects travel writers, bloggers, influencers, and partners with interesting destinations so they can share stories about destinations in the Midwest.

“Last year was a unique opportunity for North Dakota to showcase its uncrowded rooms and spacious spaces. That is one of the bright spots we saw in 2020. “ Commercial communications manager Kim Schmidt said.
