World Dream First Cruise Ship To Restart Service In Singapore With Debut Homeport Deployment On 6 November

S.ingapore – Genting Cruise Lines is pleased to announce that Dream Cruises will be the first cruise brand to resume service in Singapore with World Dream as it makes its homeport debut on November 6, 2020. World Dream will also be the newest built cruise ship to homeport in Singapore, offering a range of brand new 2- and 3-day “Super Seacation” experiences for Singapore residents during the school and year-end holidays.

Following the global COVID-19 pandemic, Dream Cruises continues to be the first cruise brand in the world to safely resume operations with two major home ports in Asia, starting with the successful deployment in Taiwan in July 2020 and then in 2020 Singapore this November. Working closely with the Singapore government, Dream Cruises has received approval from local authorities to launch a pilot project based on its strict and enhanced health and safety protocols, complemented by its exemplary safety record during its first two months of operation in Taiwan.

With the safety and wellbeing of our guests and crew being a top priority, Dream Cruises has fully reviewed and improved all of its health, hygiene and operational protocols to ensure the safest environment for all employees of its fleet and compliance with strict local regulations Authority guidelines, including strict pre-boarding and disembarking health screening procedures and safe removal procedures on board; thorough disinfection and disinfection and improved hygiene practices for guest cabins, crew members, public areas and recreational facilities; safe practices for handling food and beverages; and 100% fresh air ventilation in guest and crew cabins as well as in public spaces.

In conjunction with World Dream’s home port deployment in Singapore, Genting Cruise Lines continues to work to create career opportunities for Singaporeans by creating a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Nanyang Polytechnic, the Ngee Ann Polytechnic, the Singapore Polytechnic, the Temasek Polytechnic, the Republic Polytechnic and is signed the Institute for Technical Education. As part of this collaboration, a range of joint activities, learning projects and internship programs will be made available to students and graduates pursuing careers in the cruise and tourism industries.

To further ensure the health and safety of our guests, a compulsory COVID-19 test is carried out for all guests aged 13 and over before World Dream begins. All guests aged seven and over must also present their personal TraceTogether token or registered TraceTogether app at the time of check-in.
