Planned international passenger flights have been suspended in India since March 23 due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, special international flights were permitted as part of the Vande Bharat mission and the bilateral bubble pacts signed by India with around 18 countries, including Ukraine and Bangladesh. “Air Bubble” agreements are temporary agreements between two countries that aim to resume commercial passenger service if regular international flights are suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They are of a reciprocal nature, which means that airlines from both countries enjoy similar benefits.
Air India had previously announced additional flights between India and the UK as part of the Air Bubble Agreement. These flights, which were scheduled from Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Amritsar, Kolkata, Kochi and Goa, were in addition to the existing flights planned as part of the Vande Bharat Mission (VMB) between the two countries.
Bookings for the flight from January 1 to March 27, 2021 have started. Travelers can book their tickets through the airline’s official website, call centers or booking offices / agents.
